Brief history of CMA and providers
Cascade Medical Advantage established as a non profit business Oct 2016
Our providers, Dr Kartman and Dr Traylor, have been treating people with Opioid Use Disorder providing medications such as Buprenorphine/Naloxone (suboxone and generics) since 2005.
They have also worked in methadone clinics/opiate treatment programs (Didgwalic, Island Crossing) in the past and are knowledgeable about that treatment option.
They have also worked at inpatient residential treatment programs, (detox) withdrawal management and stabilization centers, secure detox (secure withdrawal management and stabilization centers).
We also have experience working in the hospital emergency department, and other hospital areas including labor and delivery.
We were early advocates for use of naloxone (Narcan, Kloxxado, generics) for reversal of overdose, and worked to train community members, law enforcement and EMT’s.

Saved my life!
My addiction started when I was just 14 years old. I struggled hard! I lost everything and everyone! I got pregnant at a very young age ended up in jail and treatment multiple times. I first met Dr. Kartman when I was in jail at just 19 years old! I relapsed many times. I now have a beautiful family an amazing life and career and I can PROUDLY say I have been clean for 12 years!!! My children are thriving. This is me coming out. I’ve never openly admitted my addiction for the world to see even though I have done documentary interviews on it with the help of Dr Adam Kartman. I started my journey in 2010 and spent a year in IOP intensive out patient. I followed Dr Kartman and Ms Amanda when they left and moved centers, I then followed again to where they currently are. Since 2010 the following has happened solely because of my care and treatment through Cascade Medical Advantage: sobriety from opiate addiction and substance abuse, college graduation with national honors and deans list, my first home purchase, making a six figure income, accountability for my actions to myself and others, self care, I have become a role model and spokesperson for sobriety, I have relapsed and held myself accountable through my care team, supported others on their journey to recovery.
Recovery is possible, every person has their own path, their own journey, but nobody is alone we all have support we just have to find it. I am able to work remotely on the opposite side of the state and still maintain my accountability and sobriety through alternative methods that are legal and approved and supported through my care team at cascade medical advantage. This wasn’t a 12 step program is individual to my needs and my care, I gained back my life and my family through CMA and I encourage you to do the same. It is attainable.

I have been a patient of Dr Kartman's since Suboxone was first legalized for use in Washington state. I have followed the progress that he and his trusty nurse Amanda have made in advancing the treatment of opiate addiction for the last 20 years in communities small and large and on Native lands all over the northwest. Before Dr. Kartman began his work with Suboxone there were no options for opiate addiction help north of the Seattle area and driving from locations between King County and the Canadian border to methadone clinics in the Seattle area every morning was the only option for a person wanting to take back their life from opiate addiction. With Dr. Kartman and Amanda's help I have been able to live a normal life and have been a success as a father and as a respected member of society. I have taken my life back from opiate addiction and its not an exaggeration to say that I may not even be alive today without them.

Life Changer
When I first met with Amanda and Dr. Kartman, they were working in a different clinic. I was a mess and I needed real help. The team helped me to put myself back together and support me in ways I did not know were possible. I am forever grateful for the team at this clinic and I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful the staff is. I've been seeing Dr Kartman for twelve plus years. Dr Kartman is knowledgeable and has aimed to best treat me over the years. The staff at Cascade medical advantage is friendly and courteous.
